Case study · BBC StoryWorks / Mitsui & Co.
BBC StoryWorks × Mitsui & Co.
A global healthcare story series for BBC audiences, from sports science to space nutrition.
The challenge
Mitsui & Co. is one of Japan’s largest general trading companies, with a healthcare portfolio that spans continents — and a story most people have never heard. The brief: create a series for BBC StoryWorks showing the breadth of that portfolio and Mitsui’s commitment to improving healthcare access and quality, while staying true to both BBC’s editorial standards and Mitsui’s brand identity.
The approach
Corporate healthcare investment is not an easy topic to make watchable. Our answer was to find the human stakes inside the corporate story — from Asia’s evolving healthcare needs to the unexpected journey from sports nutrition to feeding astronauts. The workflow ran end-to-end in-house: research, scriptwriting, storyboarding, filming, editing and post-production.
The results
The series turned an abstract portfolio into meaningful storytelling — strategic communication that positioned Mitsui as a leader in healthcare investment and innovation, on one of the most trusted platforms in the world.
