Alibaba Cloud — AI Software Video Series

A video series for Alibaba Cloud promoting their AI software and showcasing AI-generated film, produced with an AI-native workflow.

Four pieces delivered end-to-end with an AI-native workflow
AI voiceover, image generation, video generation and music, directed in-house
Range from abstract software explainers to fully AI-generated narrative film

The brief

Alibaba Cloud engaged us to produce a video series promoting their AI software services — three distinct capabilities that are genuinely hard to explain visually: AI Role Play, Agentic Coding, and Vision-Language & Agents. Software like this has no physical form, no location, no obvious visual language. The brief was to make it watchable anyway.

Alongside the explainers, we also produced a short AI-generated film for Alibaba Cloud demonstrating what the same generative tools can do with narrative and cinematic content — a different creative problem from explaining software, solved with the same workflow.

The approach

We handled the creative and produced the series using an AI-native workflow: AI-generated voiceover, image and video generation, and AI-composed music, all directed by our creative team. Fitting, given the subject — a series about AI software, made with AI.

Being AI-native isn’t just running a prompt and cutting the result. It meant deciding shot by shot which tool suited which idea, directing the generation toward a consistent visual language across all three films, and editing the output with the same standard we’d apply to conventionally shot footage.

The series

  • AI Role Play — bringing an interactive AI capability to life visually
  • Agentic Coding — explaining how AI agents write and reason about code
  • Vision-Language & Agents — visualising how multimodal AI models see, read and act
  • AI-Generated Short Film — a fully AI-generated piece spanning narrative drama and product advertising, showing the same workflow’s range beyond software explainers

Why it matters

Most software marketing video defaults to screen recordings and stock footage. This series shows a different route: concept-driven visuals built specifically to explain what the technology does, produced fast and without a physical shoot — a genuinely useful approach for any AI or software brand with a similarly abstract product to explain.
