“How much does a video cost?” is the first question every client asks, and most production companies in Singapore respond with “it depends” and a request for your budget. Both fair — but not helpful when you’re trying to put a number in next quarter’s plan.

So here are actual ranges, based on what we see across the Singapore market in 2026 and the several hundred corporate projects we’ve produced.

If someone quotes far below these bands, look hard at what’s missing — usually pre-production (so the shoot is improvised) or post-production time (so the edit is a first pass).

Where the money actually goes

A production budget splits roughly three ways:

Pre-production (15–25%). Concept, script, storyboards, casting, location scouting, scheduling. This is the part clients most often want to trim and the part that most determines whether the video works. Every dollar cut here gets spent twice on set.

Production (35–50%). Crew, camera and lighting, sound, location fees, talent, art department. Scales with shoot days more than anything else — a second shoot day adds 60–80% of the first day’s production cost.

Post-production (30–40%). Edit, motion graphics, colour grade, sound design and mix, versioning. Also where social cutdowns and language versions get made, which is often the best value-add in the whole budget: the marginal cost of a vertical cutdown is small, and it’s frequently the version most people see.

The variables that move your quote

  1. Shoot days. The single biggest lever. One well-planned day beats two loose ones — which is what pre-production is for.
  2. Locations. Each location move costs 1–2 hours of shooting time plus logistics. Location fees in Singapore range from free (your office) to thousands (commercial venues).
  3. Creative ambition. A talking-head video needs execution. A film that makes people feel something needs an idea, and ideas take development time. This is the difference between a production company and an agency — see why the idea matters more than the crew.
  4. Talent. Professional presenters and actors in Singapore run a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a day. Real employees are free and often more credible — but need more shooting time.
  5. Versioning. One hero film? Or a hero plus six social cutdowns in three languages? Say so upfront; it changes the edit plan, not just the invoice.
